Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence

Confluence was the go-to channel for any internal know-how and processes needed as we were scaling our business, whilst doing our best to document changes and additions to processes. I can safely say that we would not have been able to standardize half the processes that we did, if it was not for Confluence

Pros

  • Ease of use
  • User Interface
  • Documentation purposes

Cons

  • Could use more options when creating different chapters, so they are easier to distinguish.
  • One single source of truth for managing e.g Customer Renewals, which is priceless if you are standardizing and scaling a business
  • Churn handling. Clear instructions that could lead to churn prevention if done correct.
  • Overall, less internal meetings needed, thanks to having everything centered around a single source of truth.
It is an outstanding internal knowledgebase really, few if any competing tools out there can come close to this. The fact that it is also integrated to the overall infrastructure of Atlassian, makes it just outstanding. Imagine this, someone, from let's say IT, which isn't directly involved in articles surrounding a certain topic, could easily get involved and contribute, when needed, thus strengthening internal collaboration and communication.
Confluence, since it is part of the overall infrastructure of Atlassian, makes it immensely powerful internally, to build an internal knowledgebase, and is far ahead of its counterparts in Zendesk and Hubspot, which is more centered towards their customers. Confluence is just very straightforward and not making anything complicated either.

Any time we would have an internal workshop for a certain topic, it was a task afterwards to ensure that all that had been discussed would be noted down and created as a single source of truth in Confluence, under the right category. As such, we were able to direct ourselves to these specific articles inside Confluence when they needed to be addressed and actually just down the line.
